Due to Covid, this role will be initially working from home, with limited visits to sites

To provide effective and profitable commercial management along with progressive business development for retail accounts within the added value meat business. Day to day responsibility for the profitable growth of existing accounts as well as the development of new business for existing and new customers within the business. This will involve working closely with all departments especially NPD and Marketing, whilst engaging multi-site teams.

Main Duties Include

  • To provide day to day management of the retail account business, and maximise profitable sales growth in the categories of responsibility; fresh pork, bacon & gammon and sausage
  • Monitor and update the costings on an ongoing basis and identify opportunities for increased profit
  • Deliver initiatives in line with key customer and main business strategy pillars through the teams
  • Drive the stunt deal, limited edition and special buy plans for increased sales
  • Understand & interpret site financials versus budget and scrutinize P&L
  • Ensure forecast / demand plans are adequately maintained
  • Manage and administer costing models where applicable

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification

  • Chilled and retail experience required
  • Good understanding of the sales, marketing and NPD process
  • Previous experience of account management across multiple categories and/or multiple sites preferable
  • An understanding of category performance metrics and able to analyse category data
  • Strong communication, interaction & negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Proactive and flexible in working approach
