October saw the Oval Team get together to understand both the successes and challenges of the past three months and the opportunities for the future. Building on the positive start to the year There were many reasons to feel very positive. Oval are incredibly proud of the strength of our business relationships and the exceptional & unique service we are able to provide for our clients. At the same time, we recognise in today’s candidate led market that there are many obstacles which can hinder our clients’ ability to secure top talent. Oval’s Head of Commercial & Marketing, Clayton Hill led a discussion on these obstacles including final stage drop outs, delays to interview process, counter offers & notice periods. The team recognised the challenges faced and came up with a number of ideas & suggestions to assist our clients in these areas. An action plan was produced that will ensure we are delivering the very best service and innovating our business to further enhance our offering.
To celebrate our end of quarter we had an afternoon out the beautiful Sherwood Pines, Edwinstowe. We arrived and headed straight to Sherwood Pines Cycles to meet our friendly cycle expert, James, to help kit us all out with cycles and helmets. We chose a variety of e-bikes and standard cycles. He showed us the way to the Blue Cycle Route and we were off on our adventure. The weather was incredible and the sights, sounds and smells of the forest were in abundance as we sped along the paths in the autumnal paradise. 14km later we were back at the Visitor Centre where we went to collect our Discs for a round of Disc Golf.
There was great fun had by all as we tried our best to stay on the fairway and out of the rough. After a thoroughly enjoyable 9 “castles” Clayton was crowned ‘King of the Frisbee’ with Tim & Nicola placing 2nd & 3rd.
It was then back to the office to catch up on calls and emails and enjoy dinner before focusing on Q4 and end of year.
