Q3 Oval Team Activity Day October 2024

For this quarter's commercial briefing, we took a trip into the world of golf at Kingswood Golf Centre, Doncaster, with 8 of us battling it out to be crowned champions of the driving range!

Wednesday 16th October saw the team get together once again for our quarterly commercial update meeting & team building afternoon.  To kick things off Tim delivered a quarterly business update celebrating the business position, it's strengths, potential growth areas with new clients and interim business.  We also discussed significant improvements made this quarter along with challenges and development opportunities.  We then had a brief marketing update and brainstorming session for new ideas and suggestions for business enhancements as well as exciting upcoming events.

At the end of the update we were all thrilled to have a visit from Kayleigh who is currently on maternity leave after giving birth to her beautiful baby boy Finn in the Summer.  We couldn't wait to meet Finn & he proved to be a very happy & contented baby enjoying cuddles with everyone with hardly a cry to be heard.  Both Kayleigh & Finn seemed happy with Finn's cuddly Elephant Tummy Time toys from us all.

Next it was time to swing into action at Kingswood Golf, Doncaster.  Upon arrival, we were met by the very friendly and talented golf professional, Dan Gregory.  Dan showed us around the fantastic facilities before explaining & showing us the basics of golf swing technique & setting us free on the driving range to practice with our buckets of balls & golfing irons.  He patiently spent time with each of us watching & videoing our technique before offering his expert advice & suggestions for improving our swings.

When our buckets of balls had been depleted, it was time to move on to the more competitive elements of the afternoon!  We decided on a game of 'Closest to the Pin' which involved us having 3 attempts at each of 6 holes to get our ball closest to any of the 6 flags on the driving range.  It proved harder than it looked for most of us but Gemma & Tim ended up joint winners with a couple of great shots each.

CLOSEST TO THE PIN RESULTS

We then decided to take on the Pirate's Adventure Golf.  It was good fun with many difficulties encountered by everyone on the various holes (especially the last one where there was great precision and power required to shoot the balls into the treasure chest!  Clayton claimed a narrow victory with Tim a close second despite a few dubious shots on various holes where there could have been some creative scoring taking place.
