In 2025, Scottish Food & Drink theme is innovation, and several producers and products are receiving special attention for their creativity, sustainability, and commitment to local sourcing.

Highlighted Producers

  • Growers Garden: Formed by 16 farming families in Fife, this collective transforms surplus and misshapen vegetables into healthy, sustainable snacks, notably vegetable crisps. They have invested in their own facility and saved over 41 tonnes of food from landfill, exemplifying cutting-edge agricultural collaboration.
  • Distilleries: Innovation in whisky, gin, and other spirits is a prominent feature, spotlighted by both new product development and sustainability initiatives. Locations like Turadh Distillery (Angus) participated in the launch event for the “Naturally Scottish” brand, underscoring the role of small, independent producers.
  • Artisan Producers: Rising stars include makers of premium cheeses, craft soft drinks, and high-quality baking goods, with several artisan firms showcasing creative approaches within the “Naturally Scottish” campaign.

  • Vegetable Crisps by Growers Garden: Made from “wonky” Scottish vegetables, these snacks unite sustainability and flavour, finding their niche in retail and foodservice.
  • Naturally Scottish Brand Products: This branding initiative highlights everything from Scotland’s globally revered salmon, whisky, and gin, to new innovations in cheese, artisan bakery, and beverage production.
  • Competition Winners: Retailers like Scotmid are running innovation competitions open to all Scottish producers, with winning products (across categories like confectionery, chilled foods, and beverages) slated for national distribution in 2026.
  • Local Store Specials: SPAR Scotland and other retailers highlight a range of Scottish goods in-store during September, providing extra visibility to local suppliers from the region’s larder.
