Our client are looking for an experienced Account Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the UK’s food supply landscape.

You will be central to the commercial success of a leading food business, directly managing trading supply for major customers, optimising contract terms, and building strong, dynamic client relationships.

Your work will enhance existing partnerships and open opportunities for growth, bringing energy and expertise to both our team and our clients.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Leadership: Take charge of a substantial client portfolio, beginning with a flagship £35million meat supply account, and lead communications with customer trading teams.

  • Growth and Loyalty: Proactively manage, retain, and expand relationships with key B2B clients including household names in the retail and food supply chain.

  • Negotiation: Renew, renegotiate, and optimize client contracts. Secure the best terms while maintaining positive client experiences.

  • Collaboration: Bridge daily commercial activity with seamless supply for clients. Support product launches, customer strategy planning, and new business development initiatives.

  • Market Intelligence: Keep your finger on the pulse, feed back relevant market and competitor activity to ensure our offerings stay ahead.

  • Strategic Input: Support the wider Commercial team in shaping UK sales strategy and identifying new service opportunities for clients.

 

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience: Strong background in account management within the food industry is essential.

  • Meat Knowledge: A solid understanding of meat products (ideally beef) is highly desirable.

  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated ability to maximize value through effective relationship-building and negotiation.

  • Leadership: Inspire confidence and bring out the best in cross-functional teams.

  • Commercial Acumen: Analytical mindset with sound financial skills.

  • Communication: Clear, proactive communicator—confident with presenting information and collaborating across business functions.

  • Technical Skills: Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Agility & Initiative: Balance day-to-day management with challenging the status quo in a constructive, positive way.
