Our client, a leading drinks production company seeks a skilled Brewing & Syrup Operator to support efficient operations from raw material intake to final product output. This hands-on role ensures high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

 

Role Overview

The Brewing & Syrup Operator will manage key production processes in line with daily schedules, contributing to seamless brewing and syrup preparation. Reporting to the Brewing Team Leader, the position is based at our production facility and involves shift work as required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct stock control, storage, and accurate record-keeping for materials and ingredients across all areas.

  • Maintain housekeeping, hygiene standards, and compliance with internal/external audits.

  • Operate site automation systems (e.g., SCADA) and quality control systems (e.g., LIMS).

 

Brewhouse Duties

  • Handle malt milling, run dual-stream brewhouse operations, and weigh brewing additions like hops.

  • Manage wort transfers, fermentation monitoring, yeast handling, and green beer processing.

  • Perform CIP (Clean-In-Place) on all brewing equipment.

 

Filtration and Tanker Operations

  • Operate powder filters and manage unloading/loading of road tankers.

  • Handle bright beer transfers to packaging lines and CIP of filters, tanks, and mains.

 

Syrup Production

  • Ensure precise stock control, measurement of syrup ingredients, and production for supply to packaging lines.

  • Execute CIP on all syrup equipment and fillers.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • A-levels or equivalent qualification; food production or manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Forklift license desirable (training provided on-site); computer literacy essential.

  • Strong awareness of health and safety protocols, with good communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team, follow instructions, use initiative, and manage time effectively.

  • Flexibility for shift work based on operational needs.
