Our Client are a are a leading ambient and chilled desert business based in Manchester. They are currently looking for a dedicated Category Manager to deliver expertise & growth for the business.
Reporting to the Head of Category & working closely with both the NPD & Commercial teams, the Category Manager will be required to be office based for 2 to 3 days per week.
The Role
- Manage key accounts with regular client meetings to drive category growth.
- Build and sustain relationships with key retail contacts across multiple channels.
- Use insight to deliver regular, actionable internal category reviews.
- Analytical support in the development of internal and customer-based category plans
- Work closely with Sales & Product Development teams to provide regular insights and trend updates.
- Use a variety of customer research tools to evaluate commercial and development ideas with consumers.
- Support development through product benchmarking sessions.
- Regular visits to stores to asses’ customers fixtures and ranging, feeding back any recommendations around price, promotion, and positioning.
- Champion the business as an authoritative voice within the categories supplied.
- Be the voice of the consumer throughout the whole development process.
Qualifications & Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Previous Category Management experience (ideally within Private Label FMCG (Food))
- Previous customer facing experience & a history of relationship building.
- A natural passion for food and product trends, inquisitive about customer behaviour and strong presentation skills.
- Previous experience of using Kantar / Neilsen & EPOS data is necessary.
- Experience of using multiple data points to build insightful and compelling stories to rationalise a variety of key business decisions.
