Role Overview

As the Concept Developer, you’ll be at the heart of a new product journey—transforming trends and insights into irresistible food concepts that delight customers and drive business growth.

You’ll lead projects from that first spark of inspiration right through to the all-important customer presentation, collaborating with talented colleagues and industry partners every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating & Developing: Design innovative food products in response to customer briefs, ensuring they’re on-trend, commercially viable, and aligned with business goals.

• Sourcing & Experimenting: Identify and source exciting new raw materials, working closely with suppliers and adhering to our sourcing policies.

• Packaging Collaboration: Partner with our Packaging Innovation Manager to deliver packaging that’s as innovative as the food inside.

• Project Leadership: Manage product development through our stage gate process, ensuring every detail is covered and every milestone is met.

• Quality Champion: Organise and lead taste panels to guarantee every product meets our high standards.

• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work closely with Technical, Commercial, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

• Customer Engagement: Attend customer meetings and product submissions, sharing your passion and expertise to build lasting relationships.

• Team Leadership: Support and guide our Concept Technologist, helping them grow and succeed.

Skills/Experience

• Proven experience in food product development or a similar innovation-focused role.

• Strong grasp of market trends, consumer insights, and the product development lifecycle.

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in managing customer relationships.

• Project leadership experience, with a knack for cross-functional teamwork.

• Detail-oriented, organised, and process-driven.

• Experience with raw material sourcing and packaging innovation is a plus.

• Previous mentoring or line management experience is an advantage.
