Are you a skilled engineering leader ready to make a real impact in the food & drink sector?

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee all on-site engineering operations, drive machinery uptime, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Develop: Manage and inspire a multi-shift engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Maintenance Excellence: Deliver a robust, proactive maintenance plan to maximize equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

  • Project Leadership: Oversee capital projects and site facilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and budget control.

  • Production Support: Ensure all production equipment operates at peak efficiency, responding swiftly to breakdowns and driving root-cause analysis.

  • Health & Safety: Champion a safe working environment, upholding all legislative and company standards (PUWER98, IOSH).

  • Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with operations and hygiene teams to maintain the highest standards of product quality and compliance.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement lean methodologies and support new product development through innovative engineering solutions.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Proven leadership of engineering teams in a chilled FMCG or food & drink environment. Skilled in managing contractors, effluent plants, and steam systems.

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (Electrical/Mechanical), IOSH Managing Safely, 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (or equivalent), Health & Safety Level 2.

  • Skills: Strong in budgeting, project management, and lean tools (5S). Confident decision-maker with excellent communication skills.

  • Attributes: Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
