We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the engineering function on site, ensuring high levels of equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety within a fast-paced production environment.

The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering team and take responsibility for the overall maintenance strategy across the site. You will work closely with production to minimise downtime, improve reliability, and support continuous improvement across the factory.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the site engineering team

• Managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities

• Driving improvements in equipment reliability, uptime, and performance

• Managing engineering budgets and external contractors

• Supporting site projects, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety and food manufacturing standards

• Working closely with production teams to optimise performance and reduce downtime

• Developing maintenance strategies and improving engineering processes

Requirements:

• Previous experience in an Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager / Engineering Team Leader role

• Background within food manufacturing 

• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge

• Experience managing and developing engineering teams

• Knowledge of maintenance systems, preventative maintenance, and reliability improvements

• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with production and operations teams
