I am currently working with a well-established manufacturing business.

You’ll be based on their modern UK production facility, where they manufacture high-volume, high-quality products supplied to major retail and global customers.

They are seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join their Engineering team, covering a 3 shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm).

 

                         

 

Role Overview

 

This is a hands-on role providing reactive and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance support to production, ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

You will work across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, contributing directly to plant performance, safety, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant and machinery to meet production requirements
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to machinery breakdowns
  • Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs
  • Deliver a robust preventative maintenance programme to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Carry out machinery installations and modifications when required
  • Work closely with production teams to support machine changeovers and settings
  • Ensure all planned and preventative maintenance documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Maintain engineering standards in line with company policies
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH, and relevant legislation
  • Manage spares and stock control, including critical spares listings
  • Participate in shift handovers and maintain audit-ready standards at all times
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement

 

Requirements

  • Time-served Electrical or Mechanical Engineer
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience maintaining production and packaging machinery
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively
  • Full UK driving licence
  • HNC or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Previous experience within Manufacturing or FMCG
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and automated systems
  • CMMS experience (FIXX Maintenance System or similar)
  • Microsoft Office
