We are currently recruiting a Factory Quality Manager for a leading European food group, based at their 24/7 facility in North Wales near Chester.

 

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, the Quality Manager will oversee the factory quality team, driving a culture of operational excellence and food safety. As the site’s Quality Manager, your mission is to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.

 

Quality Manager responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership: Mentoring and developing the QA team while embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Audits: Maintaining quality policies in line with HACCP and ensuring the site remains "audit-ready" for 3rd party and customer inspections.
  • Customer Relations: Acting as the primary technical point of contact for major retailers, attending meetings, and responding to technical queries.
  • Data-Driven Quality: Analyzing product performance data to provide actionable insights and managing CAPA plans for non-conformances.
  • Innovation Support: Collaborating with cross-functional teams on NPD and process validation to ensure quality is built into every new launch.

 

Who We Are Looking For

  • Proven Experience: You have a track record in quality management within a food production or FMCG environment.
  • Chilled or Frozen Expertise: Previous experience within chilled or frozen complex categories is highly desirable.
  • Retailer Knowledge: Familiarity with major retailer standards (e.g. Tesco, Aldi, Iceland, Morrisons).
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and environmental monitoring.
  • Influence: A proven ability to lead teams and drive positive change within a manufacturing setting.
