This is your opportunity to join a market-leading food solutions business as a Retail Account Manager, working with top-tier retail and food industry clients across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow key customer relationships, delivering tailored solutions and expert advice to drive sales and profitability.

  • Get hands-on with the day-to-day running of accounts—including administration, reporting, and regular calls with overseas colleagues (1–2 nights per week, with flexibility around core hours).

  • Develop and execute customer plans, including S&OP reviews, to identify needs and agree on commitments from both sides.

  • Collaborate with planning and supply teams to ensure accurate forecasting and timely fulfilment of customer requirements.

  • Act as a customer advocate, managing opportunities and risks, and championing their ambitions internally.

  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends, creating strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Drive portfolio performance—revenue, margin, inventory, and market share—while identifying new growth opportunities.

  • Oversee distribution channels, seeking efficiencies and added value for customers.

  • Ensure compliance with credit policies and resolve issues promptly.

  • Produce insightful, timely management reports to inform business decisions.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in red meat and working with UK processors (exceptional candidates from other fresh/chilled/frozen categories will be considered).

  • Direct experience managing Tesco accounts (other Top 4/5 retailer experience considered for outstanding candidates).

  • Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, change-driven environments.

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of delivering results in the food, protein, or dairy sector.

  • Strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and handle the operational detail.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with all levels from shop floor to boardroom.

  • Competence with Excel, PowerBI, and ERP systems.

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce or equivalent experience.

Location & Working Pattern

  • Based in London or within a commutable distance to the office.

  • Contracted to 5 days a week in the office, but flexible hybrid patterns (e.g., 3+2 or 4+1 office/home split) are supported, unless business-critical needs require full office attendance.

Key benefits

  • Shape strategic partnerships with major food retailers and processors.

  • Be a catalyst for change, driving commercial success and innovation.

  • Thrive in a supportive, high-performing team with a global outlook.

  • Enjoy flexibility in your working hours to support international collaboration.
