Key Responsibilities

Own and grow key customer relationships, delivering tailored solutions and expert advice to drive sales and profitability.

Get hands-on with the day-to-day running of accounts—including administration, reporting, and regular calls with overseas colleagues (1–2 nights per week, with flexibility around core hours).

Develop and execute customer plans, including S&OP reviews, to identify needs and agree on commitments from both sides.

Collaborate with planning and supply teams to ensure accurate forecasting and timely fulfilment of customer requirements.

Act as a customer advocate, managing opportunities and risks, and championing their ambitions internally.

Monitor competitor activity and market trends, creating strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Drive portfolio performance—revenue, margin, inventory, and market share—while identifying new growth opportunities.

Oversee distribution channels, seeking efficiencies and added value for customers.

Ensure compliance with credit policies and resolve issues promptly.

Produce insightful, timely management reports to inform business decisions.
Candidate Profile

Proven experience in red meat and working with UK processors (exceptional candidates from other fresh/chilled/frozen categories will be considered).

Direct experience managing Tesco accounts (other Top 4/5 retailer experience considered for outstanding candidates).

Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, change-driven environments.

Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of delivering results in the food, protein, or dairy sector.

Strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and handle the operational detail.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging with all levels from shop floor to boardroom.

Competence with Excel, PowerBI, and ERP systems.

Tertiary qualification in commerce or equivalent experience.
Location & Working Pattern

Based in London or within a commutable distance to the office.

Contracted to 5 days a week in the office, but flexible hybrid patterns (e.g., 3+2 or 4+1 office/home split) are supported, unless business-critical needs require full office attendance.
