Our client is a large chilled food manufacturer who are looking for a Senior Category Insight Specialist to support category, NPD, marketing and commercial functions with compelling and relevant analysis of product performance. This analysis will be fundamental in the implementation of the business’ Food Strategy.
Having a strong acumen for analysing data, you’ll identify opportunities for growth using industry market, shopper and consumer observations and insights.
Lead on identifying data availability; formatting key data into readable formats.
Regular and consistent category data reporting – weekly performance summary (eg., day-part, food attach) and key campaign findings; (eg., cannibalisation, incrementality).
Support category team with data which identifies range optimisation opportunities and helps to drive improved performance.
This role will be a critical part of building the long-term category strategy and annual business plans, to support with this you will be responsible for sharing regular insight; pricing, competitor activity, shopper and segmentation behaviour changes, gaps & opportunities.
Build relationships with Insight and Category teams from other markets to share learnings. Reporting any interesting findings which could optimise food and beverage in the UK.
Create a shared insights engine which organises our data and can be accessed by team members.
External Analytics & Insights Platforms
Utilise the insight platforms currently available eg., VYPR, Lumina, Allegra, The Food People.
Leverage supplier resources, interrogating their weekly market reports and insight partnerships.
Keep a view on platforms which may add value to the business.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong analytical and data literacy skills
- Experience briefing qualitative and quantitative insights
- Proven track record interpreting insights, adding value to business growth
- Strong Excel skills and good BI experience – is comfortable learning new systems
- Is able to present useable insights in a clear and precise manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal
- Commercial acumen
This role is primarily based in London with occasional travel to other sites around the UK.
