Part of a prominent, market-leading European food group with a global footprint, our client is a recognised pioneer in specialised food manufacturing. Operating a high-performing site in the east Glasgow area, they are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Shift Production Manager to lead their factory operations during shift, drive operational excellence, and uphold their "safety-first, quality-first" culture.

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be the driving force behind daily factory operations. Leading the factory floor, you will empower Front Line Managers, optimise site efficiency, and ensure every product meets rigorous customer specifications and technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Drive shift efficiency, labour productivity, and material waste reduction across production lines
  • Culture & Compliance: Keep the factory " audit-ready," embedding rigorous standards in Food Safety, Health & Safety (IOSH/NEBOSH), and Environmental compliance.
  • People & Team Development: Direct and mentor shift teams, managing recruitment, performance management, and succession planning to build a high-performing operational leadership team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status quo by identifying best practice, executing CI initiatives, and refining the site operating model.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a resilient, visible leader who thrives on the shop floor in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment:

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years in Food/FMCG production management, with 2–3 years operating at a senior shift-leadership level.
  • Technical & Safety Standards: Strong track record in driving CI, food safety, and zero-harm safety cultures
  • Leadership Impact: An approachable, high-integrity leader skilled in coaching teams, building consensus, and driving accountability.
  • Analytical Mindset: Highly numerate and literate with strong root-cause analysis skills. Proficient in MS Office; exposure to ERP systems is advantageous.

Why Apply?

  • Attractive Shift Pattern: 100% Dayshift pattern (8am–8pm, 4-on / 4-off) providing great work-life balance without night shifts.
  • Stability & Investment: Join an internationally respected food group investing heavily in UK manufacturing.
  • Growth: Opportunity to make a tangible operational mark and progress within a supportive structure.
