Role responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, you’ll keep the site running like clockwork by:

Managing the planned preventative maintenance programme (PPMs) to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.

Responding quickly to breakdowns, emergencies, and repairs to keep production flowing.

Supervising external contractors to ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.

Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities.

Controlling maintenance resources, from spare parts and tools to PPE.

Supporting the commissioning of new equipment and product trials with key functions such as Technical, NPD, and Production.

Leading continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, hygiene, and safety across the site.

Ensuring strong communication across teams and shifts, building trusted relationships at all levels.

Promoting best practice in safety, sustainability, and quality standards throughout the maintenance function.
Skills & Experience
We’re seeking an engineer with both the technical know-how and the mindset to make a difference in a fast-moving food environment.
Essential:

A qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
-
Proven experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment (ideally food, bakery, or related)

Strong problem-solving skills under pressure
-
Excellent planning, organisation & performance management skills
-
A true team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable:

Level 3 Food Safety qualification
-
IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
-
Previous experience leading trials or commissioning new production equipment
