A leading European food group is establishing a brand-new Site HSE Lead / Manager role at their Glasgow-area facility, and are seeking a passionate and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional to build and lead the site safety culture from the ground up.

 

This is an incredible opportunity to own the HSE function for a site. The HSE Lead / Manager will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing all health and safety programs, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

 

As Site HSE Lead / Manager, you'll be responsible for a wide range of critical activities, including:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Designing and delivering engaging training programs on all health and safety topics.
  • Maintaining meticulous training records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring compliance with H&S regulations through regular inspections and audits, preparing and submitting detailed reports to senior management.
  • Liaising with regulatory agencies and ensuring timely reporting of incidents as required.
  • Leading investigations into workplace accidents and incidents, maintaining a robust incident reporting system.
  • Fostering a proactive safety culture through effective communication and engaging initiatives, including organising safety awareness campaigns, workshops, and events.

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as Food, FMCG, Pharma, or Packaging.
  • A NEBOSH certification as a minimum qualification, my client offers support to continue your studies to diploma level.
  • A proactive approach to HSE, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a strong safety culture.
