Role Overview
The Site Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of site utilities and facilities, supporting legal compliance, energy efficiency, and the overall safety and performance of the site’s infrastructure.
This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, cost control, and regulatory adherence across all site services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for utilities, facilities, and plant equipment to maximise reliability and efficiency.
- Oversee the delivery of key maintenance KPIs, including cost per hectolitre, plant uptime, team engagement, and the successful rollout of Lean and TPM initiatives.
- Lead maintenance planning activities to enhance plant performance and reduce operational costs.
- Forecast utility consumption, providing accurate data and insights to the finance team.
- Manage and optimise budgets for utilities and facilities, with an ongoing focus on continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness.
- Produce comprehensive site performance reports (e.g., kWh/hL, hL/hL) to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
- Ensure utilities KPIs are achieved through effective cross-functional engagement and collaboration.
- Act as the site’s duty holder for electrical systems, including both high voltage and domestic supplies, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain facilities to GMP standards, supporting a high-quality beverage manufacturing environment.
- Oversee the performance of embedded Facilities Management contractors to ensure delivery of high-quality, value-for-money services.
- Apply advanced manufacturing practices to resolve recurring technical issues and drive site-wide improvements.
- Lead the site’s environmental agenda, managing relationships with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Ensure statutory compliance for all utility systems, including boilers, steam, compressed air, refrigeration (including ammonia), CO?/N? systems, water treatment, and Legionella (L8) requirements.
- Support and challenge the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
Experience
-
Substantial experience in utilities and facilities management within complex, fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Background in FMCG, ideally within the food or beverage sector.

Proven track record in managing engineering functions with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.

Demonstrated expertise in the application of Lean or TPM principles in a manufacturing context.

Familiarity with ISO management systems (Environmental, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality).
