Our client are a leading food manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality, innovative food products. They are seeking a skilled and motivated Nightshift Production Engineer to join their team at their Cambridgeshire site to help ensure smooth operations during night hours.

Role Overview

The Nightshift Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining production processes, equipment, and quality standards during night shifts. This role is crucial in ensuring continuous and efficient production while adhering to food safety regulations and company standards.

The successful candidate must deliver quality service to production through detailed knowledge of production and maintenance procedures in terms of setting up and running of equipment efficiently to meet production requirements.  Front line maintenance is an integral part of the team bridging the gap between engineering and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage production processes & report all faults.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with manufacturing equipment
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality control standards
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
• Optimise production efficiency and minimize downtime
• Collaborate with day shift teams to ensure smooth shift transitions
• Train and supervise night shift production staff
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment performance, and maintenance
• Implement process improvements and new technologies as directed
• Respond to and manage any emergencies or unexpected issues.

Qualifications

• Higer education qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Food Engineering preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control processes
• Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Ability to work night shifts and occasional weekends or holidays
