We’re working with a well-established and highly respected manufacturer in the North West, known for operational excellence, strong investment in engineering, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Role Overview

As a key member of the engineering team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring maximum line efficiency, minimising downtime, and supporting production performance across a busy site.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering both reactive and planned maintenance across production and packaging lines

  • Diagnosing faults quickly and implementing effective, long-term solutions

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency

  • Working collaboratively with production teams to drive performance

  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with food safety and health & safety standards

 

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Friday: 04:30am – 13:00pm

  • 1 in 4 Saturdays: 07:00am – 15:30pm (paid at 1.5x day rate – £259.61)

 

This early shift offers a strong work-life balance, giving you your afternoons back while maintaining a competitive earning potential.

 

Package

  • Basic salary: £45,000

  • Overtime enhancement: £3,115

  • Total earnings: £48,115

  • 5% pension contribution

  • 33 days annual leave

 

 

Key skills & experience

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within food, drink, or FMCG manufacturing

  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability

  • Experience working in high-speed, automated production environments

  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)
