Our cllient, a leading branded food producer are looking for a highly skilled Commercial Manager to support their commercial strategy and delivery of profitable growth by driving key commercial actions to deliver sales growth, pricing, commercial margin, forecast accuracy, value chain, and overdue debt management.

This role will report to the Business Unit Director and will be based remotely with frequent travel to manufacturing sites and customers.  Prospective candidates will need previous experience in both Chilled Food & Tesco accounts.
 

             

 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Build positive customer relationships and communication across all network points

  • Deliver account joint business plans

  • Manage range for growth: products/specification, activity plan, merchandising, distribution, packaging

  • Manage pricing: new products, value chain, feed models, cost reviews, specification changes

  • Drive customer progress via KPIs: commercial, technical, supply chain, HR, environmental

  • Communicate and plan all customer changes across wider functions to ensure seamless delivery

  • Reduce customer debt and ensure timely payment for supplied products

  • Identify, explore, and share new sales opportunities while highlighting any business risks

  • Support business processes such as forecasting, budgeting, cash management, planning, and purchasing

  • Lead, coach, and manage direct reports with one-on-one meetings

  • Act as a role model within the business and champion business behaviors

  • Liaise with wider team and internal functions

 

Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience, ideally within chilled.

  • Commercial experience working with Tesco.

  • Experience managing accounts, building capability, addressing issues effectively, and complying with business policies and procedures.

  • Ability to clearly communicate and influence internally and externally at appropriate organisational levels.

  • Experience working with complex, demanding retail or similar customer base.

  • High level of flexibility and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment with sometimes conflicting departmental requirements.
