An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of Europe's most respected food producers as a forward-thinking Category & Insight Manager to shape commercial strategy, influence decision-making, and play a key role in strengthening partnerships with leading grocery retailers.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with some of the UK’s largest grocery retailers to identify and unlock category growth opportunities across ranging, merchandising, pricing, promotion, NPD, and marketing activity.

  • Deliver insights and actionable recommendations that drive category and customer strategies.

  • Analyse and interpret sales and market data to uncover consumer shopping behaviours, emerging trends, and key growth drivers.

  • Monitor the latest category and market movements through both desk research and store visits.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, NPD, and technical teams to ensure alignment between customer priorities and strategic initiatives.

  • Benchmark competitor activity and identify best practice across price, product, and promotional implementation.

  • Build strong internal and external relationships to maximise both current and new business opportunities.

 

Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a commercial, market insight, or category management role within food or drink manufacturing, ideally supplying into a top UK retailer.

  • Skilled in working with datasets from providers such as Kantar, Nielsen, and retailer EPOS systems.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • A confident communicator, comfortable presenting insights and influencing stakeholder decisions.

  • Analytical, curious, and commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Collaborative and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

  • Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel to customers, stores, and manufacturing sites.
