Our client is seeking a Logistics and Account Management Lead to both oversee day-to-day operations and shape the future direction of logistics, customer experience and supply chain delivery for their growing food manufacturing business.

 

             

 

In this role, you will lead a high-performing Logistics team (4 direct reports), manage complex logistics flows, and develop lasting partnerships with retail customers, hauliers, and third-party suppliers, ensuring the premium food products reach the market efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest possible standard.

 


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operational Excellence – Oversee daily logistics and asset control operations from production to delivery, optimising processes to achieve service, cost and quality targets.
  • Customer Champion – Manage key customer accounts, ensuring needs are met and service levels exceed expectations.
  • Financial Ownership – Take responsibility for £100 million P&L performance, identifying ways to control costs and drive new revenue streams.
  • Strategic Coordination – Build strong, secure working relationships between logistics, asset management and customs teams to deliver seamlessly for our customers.
  • Team Leadership – Lead and develop two team members through regular reviews, goal setting (PDP/EPR), and coaching to unlock their full potential.
  • Performance Driving – Run regular department catch-ups, reviews and KPI tracking to keep the team focused and motivated.
  • Supplier & Haulier Partnerships – Negotiate contracts, service levels and rates to maximise efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement – Use data, analysis and cross-functional collaboration to identify trends, tackle challenges and drive innovation.
  • Strategic Input – Support and help deliver company-wide initiatives, aligning your department with longer-term business goals.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring a blend of operational logistics expertise and strong customer relationship management skills, ideally from within fresh produce, food manufacturing, or FMCG supply chain environments.

 

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven supply chain management knowledge, from collection through to final delivery.
  • Strong transport planning expertise, able to optimise routes and respond to challenges.
  • Commercial acumen with financial planning & P&L management experience.
  • Comfortable with logistics systems and ERP software.
  • Exceptional negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Skilled problem-solver with a track record of operational improvements.
  • Leadership ability, able to inspire, motivate and develop your team.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Adaptable, proactive and calm under pressure.
