Our Client are an exciting business in the Consumer products sector. They are searching for a dynamic, skilled senior national account manager who is looking for the next opportunity, to take the lead to build their brand & take it to the next level.
The Head of Sales will be a key player in driving the growth and success of the business by managing and developing relationships with their national retail accounts.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the consumer products industry.
The head of sales will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies, and will play a crucial role in achieving revenue targets and market share goals.
About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with key national accounts .
You will be the primary point of contact for the accounts, developing strategic partnerships that drive sales growth and achieve ambitious business objectives.
Currently the role will have one direct report, but expansion will be required, which will be a requirement for this person to lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at strategic national retail accounts.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance evaluations to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
Sales Strategy:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for national accounts.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and threats.
- Implement pricing, promotion, and product placement strategies to optimize sales and market share.
Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with national accounts to secure favorable terms, agreements, and promotional opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and resolve any issues that may arise during the course of business.
Forecasting and Analysis:
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and contribute to demand planning processes.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of account strategies.
- Collaborate with the product development team to introduce new products or variations based on customer feedback and market demands.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior National Account Manager or similar role within the FMCG industry (5+ years)
- Strong understanding of the FMCG market dynamics, consumer trends, and retail landscape.
- A track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving profitable growth.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel nationally for client meetings.
